Shea Moisture curly hair products have finally launched in Australia! Check out my curly hair tutorial using their delicious Curl & Shine range. Words by Angela Allan. Photos by Stuart Allan Photography.
My Curly Hair Care Routine
Watch the video above for the full routine!
I have curly hair 3A curls. I wash my hair every 4-5 days. I alternate between Hello Hair Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner and Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Shampoo. I use conditioner with a tiny bit of shampoo. I also coat the ends of my hair with conditioner to protect them. I massage the conditioner into my scalp and let the water rinse it through.
I’ll then put in a hair treatment and leave in for 5 minutes. I’ll then rinse it out using cold water to close the hair cuticles. I’ll squeeze out the water with my hands, and while still wet, I’ll put in Deva Curl Wave Maker or Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie (sometimes both!).
I use Aquis Rapid Dry Hair Towel for long hair and scrunch my hair until damp, then let it air dry. I sleep on a satin pillowcase and I “pineapple” my hair using a satin hair ribbon.
I follow the Curly Girl Method – which is mainly no heat, and no sulfates or silicones used on your hair. I’ll detail this more in another post ﹘ let me know if you want to learn more by leaving me a comment below!
